Latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip as United are being linked with a striker who has a £56.2m release clause

Manchester United are seemingly already preparing for the future, with scouts reportedly looking at a potential striker signing.
United have already been busy in the transfer market this summer with three new signings arriving at Old Trafford. Benjamin Sesko became United’s third signing of the window last week, joining Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo in signing for the Reds.
The summer transfer window runs until September 1, so there is still plenty of time for United to get more business done should they wish to do so. Now, a fresh report has claimed that United are looking at South America for their next big star.
The Daily Mail have reported that United are showing an interest in Internacional striker Ricardo Mathias. The 19-year-old has scored five goals across 18 appearances for the Brazilian club’s first team and is already attracting interest from the Premier League.
The report claims that United have sent scouts to watch Mathias in action, most recently last week for a 1-1 draw with Fluminense. Mathias is reported to have a £56.2million release clause in his contract with Internacional, with United said to be keen to put themselves at the top of the list of clubs interested in his signature.
After the signing of Sesko, United now have four recognised centre forwards in the first team alongside Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee and Chido Obi. Hojlund, though, is being heavily linked with a move away from United, with AC Milan a potential destination.
United have already ventured to South America for one new signing this summer, with Diego Leon arriving from Cerro Porteno in Paraguay. United agreed to pay a £3.3million initial fee with the potential for the deal to reach up to £7million.
