Iren, the Nasdaq-listed artificial intelligence data centre operator run by Australian brothers Daniel and Will Roberts, kick-started a sharemarket rollercoaster ride after announcing a multi-billion-dollar partnership with the world’s most valuable company, Nvidia.
In a deal that highlights the circular economy of the AI infrastructure sector, Iren announced Nvidia would spend $US3.4 billion ($4.7 billion) to use and expand its data centres, which will be filled with thousands of Nvidia’s most advanced chips, known as Blackwell processors.
