Listings for the upcoming Sony Xperia 1 VIII smartphones have appeared on Amazon, likely pre-filled and published. They don’t contain images of the phones (they’re replaced by headphones), but they do reveal a lot of information that Notebookcheck spotted on the store’s UK and German websites.
According to the product specifications, the Sony Xperia 1 VIII features a 6.5-inch FHD+ HDR OLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. The description mentions a new telephoto lens, one of three – likely referring to the 48MP cameras previously reported.
Xperia AI is reported to be present – artificial intelligence can optimize photos and save battery life. Sony also retains the 3.5mm audio jack, dual SIM support, but there is no mention of microSD card support. The specs page promises 2 days of battery life for the smartphone.
As for the Xperia 1 VIII’s appearance, it was previously reported that the phones will have an updated design with a square camera island. Accurate CAD renders of the smartphone have also recently appeared. Amazon supplements this data with a list of colors: lilac silver, graphite black and garnet red.
According to information on Amazon, the Sony Xperia 1 VIII will be available on June 26. The stated prices of €1,858–€1,868 and £1,728 seem too high, but the publication explains the pricing by the bundle, which includes Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones.
