Rumours surrounding Oasis potentially playing at Celtic Park have taken another twist after a Liam Gallagher social media reply on Tuesday morning caught the attention of fans online.
Speculation has been growing for weeks that the band could be considering Parkhead as part of a future tour following the success of their reunion shows.
While nothing official has been announced by Oasis, promoters or Celtic, supporters have continued to discuss the possibility of the iconic Manchester band bringing a huge stadium show to the east end of Glasgow.
On Tuesday morning, one fan directly asked Liam Gallagher on X about the prospect of the band performing at Celtic Park.
A fan asked: “how you feeling about playing Celtic park btw”
Liam’s response was short, but enough to immediately get people talking again.
The Oasis frontman replied: “How you feeling about us possibly playing Celtic park”
The cryptic response has only added to the ongoing speculation.
Liam Gallagher has never hidden his affection for Celtic and the club’s support. Over the years, both Gallagher brothers have regularly referenced Celtic publicly, with Liam in particular often interacting with supporters online. They are first and foremost Manchester City fans
That connection is a major reason why the idea of Oasis performing at Celtic Park has gathered momentum so quickly among fans.
Recent reports have suggested the band could be exploring another major tour after their current reunion run, with Scottish venues believed to be under consideration. Celtic Park has been repeatedly mentioned alongside Hampden and Murrayfield in the rumour mill.
From Celtic’s perspective, any concert agreement would likely depend heavily on scheduling around the football calendar. The club has traditionally been cautious about hosting large-scale concerts because of concerns over pitch damage and European qualifiers during the summer months.
Still, the financial incentive would be enormous.
A multi-night Oasis run at Celtic Park would almost certainly sell out within minutes given the demand that followed the reunion announcement. The atmosphere inside the stadium for an event of that scale would also be something few venues in Britain could match.
At this stage there is still no official confirmation that Celtic Park is being lined up for Oasis dates.
But Liam Gallagher dropping a teasing response on social media on Tuesday morning has only intensified the chatter.
