General Classification Standings after Stage 6

Stage 6 did very little to change the GC picture, but it did sharpen the context before Blockhaus.

Afonso Eulalio remains in pink with the same 2:51 cushion over Igor Arrieta, while the main GC favourites are still stacked more than six minutes down after the chaos of Stage 5. The key line is that Jonas Vingegaard, Enric Mas, Jai Hindley, Ben O’Connor, Felix Gall, Damiano Caruso and several others all remain locked together at +6:22, so there was no meaningful separation among the established GC names.

The only small GC movement came through bonus seconds. Lennert Van Eetvelt picked up two seconds at the Red Bull KM, moving him to +6:20 overall and two seconds ahead of the Vingegaard group. It is minor, but it keeps him active and alert in that crowded GC block.

The big takeaway is that Eulalio still has a huge buffer going into the first major mountain test, and nobody used the Napoli stage to chip into it. With Blockhaus next, the race now has a clear question: is Eulalio’s lead a genuine GC problem for the favourites, or simply a temporary gap waiting to be exposed when Vingegaard, Red Bull and Netcompany INEOS finally have terrain to attack?

Davide Ballerini’s stage win blows up the top end of the standings, taking him from 32nd to 3rd on 58 points, just ahead of Jhonatan Narvaez on 53. Jasper Stuyven also makes a huge jump into 7th with 40 points after finishing second on the stage.

The big picture is simple: Magnier remains miles clear, Milan is still his nearest recognised sprint rival, but Stage 6 massively boosted Astana’s presence in the points race through Ballerini and Silva.

King of the Mountains Standings after Stage 6

Diego Sevilla remains firmly in control of the blue jersey battle on 42 points, still more than double his nearest challengers. Igor Arrieta and Nelson Oliveira are level on 18 points, but neither gained ground today, while Manuele Tarozzi moves up to 4th on 14 points after another active day.

The only real change of note is Mattia Bais entering the standings with 3 points, strengthening Polti VisitMalta’s grip on the competition. For now, this is still very much Sevilla’s jersey to defend, though Blockhaus could quickly reshape the picture.

Youth Classification Standings after Stage 6

Afonso Eulalio remains in firm control of the youth classification and, more importantly, still holds the Maglia Rosa outright. Igor Arrieta stays second at 2:51, giving UAE Team Emirates-XRG a strong presence in the white jersey fight, while Andrea Raccagni Noviero remains third at 3:39.

The main GC-relevant young riders are still tightly packed behind: Jan Christen is 5th at 6:16, Giulio Pellizzari 6th at 6:18, Lennert Van Eetvelt 7th at 6:20, and Markel Beloki, Davide Piganzoli and Mathys Rondel are all at 6:22.

So for now, Eulalio has a big cushion, but behind him the battle for best young rider is stacked with riders who could move quickly once the real mountain stages begin.
