A lengthy jail sentence for the former chief executive of failed artificial intelligence marketing start-up Metigy could come down to his use of stolen funds to purchase two luxury residential properties in one of Sydney’s wealthiest suburbs and another near the Southern Highlands.

In November, David Fairfull, who co-founded Metigy in 2015, admitted to one count of making false and misleading statements when he misled investors who put in $15.7 million for shares during a $50 million capital raising in 2021.
