We kicked off Round 24 with an absolute cracker of a contest between the reigning champions and the team many regard as the heir to the throne.

The Panthers came in on a nine-game winning streak while the Storm had won nine of their past 10 and when all was said and done it was Melbourne prevailing 22-18 in a golden point thriller.

After the sides finished level at 18-18 after 80 minutes it was Storm hooker Harry Grant coming up with a special play out of dummy half to get his team home.

Storm coach Craig Bellamy made a huge change an hour before kick-off with gun five-eighth Cameron Munster moving to five-eighth and Jonah Pezet coming into the halves alongside Tyran Wishart.

It worked a treat with Munster absolutely everywhere when his team had the ball and calling the shots superbly while Pezet also kicked well.

The Panthers remain in fourth spot for the time being but will drop out of the four should the Warriors beat the Dragons on Friday night.
