The Gunnedah Bulldogs lost to the Tamworth Swans by 137 points at Tamworth No. 1 Oval for the second time this season, as the AFL North West NSW men’s teams faced off last Saturday.

The game was shifted from Wolseley Park which was not yet ready to be used, following flooding several days earlier.

The 26.16.172 to 5.5.35 defeat equalled Gunnedah’s highest loss of the season, which was 23.26.164 to 4.3.27 against the same club at the same venue five weeks earlier.

Kaleb Crowhurst booted 10 goals for the Swans last Saturday, while the next biggest tally from an individual was three majors.

Seth Morony and Andrew Osmond found the target twice each while Mason Louis booted one six-pointer for the heavily beaten team, which sustained a few injuries throughout the match.

The Swans scored 7.4.46 to 1.1.7 in the first term, before taking a 14.7.91 to 2.2.14 lead into half-time.

The Tamworth team went on to kick 5.4.34 to 2.1.13 in the third quarter, and 7.5.47 to 1.2.8 in the final quarter.

The Swans remained in contention for the minor premiership along with fellow competition pacesetter Inverell, while Gunnedah remained last of the five teams.

The Bulldogs have a bye this weekend.
