EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State University officially dedicated Spartan Tennis, the new home of the MSU men’s and women’s tennis programs, on Thursday, May 21.
The facility was made possible through a historic $10 million commitment announced in 2024 from Joan Secchia Nowak.
MSU Athletics hosted the dedication event, which featured speakers MSU President Kevin M. Guskiewicz, Vice President/Director of Athletics J Batt, women’s tennis head coach Kim Bruno, men’s tennis head coach Mike Flowers and Spartan All-American Ozan Baris.
The brand-new building is highlighted by coaches offices and locker rooms for both the men’s and women’s programs, a team room, a kitchen and nutrition station, an athletic training room, and a patio overlooking the six new outdoor courts that include spectator seating and scoreboards.
The new facility builds on the momentum of the MSU men’s and women’s tennis programs.
The men’s tennis team won the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles in 2026 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the third year in a row.
Bruno, who just completed her 10th season as head coach of the women’s team, has collected 115 wins at MSU and is just the second Spartan coach in program history to win 100 matches.
