Jordan Henderson got an ovation on Sunday.

It was a nice moment for the former Liverpool captain.

He said:

“Coming back here was emotional for me. The reaction when I went off was incredible – I had goosebumps. It was nice to come back and see the fans. My family is here.”

However, there has been some reaction from the Brentford fans on social media.

They don’t appear to be happy about Henderson’s conduct during their 1-1 draw which meant they missed out on a place in Europe on goal difference.

One wrote: “If Jordan Henderson never plays for us again, it will be too soon. That was an absolutely disgraceful way to behave.”

Post-match, as the Brentford players stood with the away end, Henderson performed his own lap of honour.
