When singer Bebe Rexha stepped out at the American Music Awards earlier this week, she had fans buzzing over her shock new look.
The Me, Myself & I hit maker, 36, who is about to drop her first independently-released album, turned heads in an edgy low-cut, part-leather frock stacked with belts and oversized buckles. She paired the look with crystal scorpion stilettos that screamed for everyone’s attention. And that it did.
But not everyone was a fan of the star’s new risque appearance.
Throwback pictures of the singer emerged online, highlighting her dramatic transformation over the years.
“Singer Bebe Rexha is going viral after fans noticed how different she looked at the American Music Awards,” @HustleBitch posted. “Be honest… what’s your first thought?”
Sadly, the comments that followed were more than honest – they were shameful.
“Everyone discovers Ozempic, she discovers food,” one person wrote.
“That’s not the same person. they are two different people; …or? is it the same person? …what happened?” another questioned.
While plenty of fans came to her defence insisting she looks “beautiful” regardless and “refreshingly normal”, the star herself decided to chime in to answer the question.
“My thought is… My new album Dirty Blonde is out June 12th. Available for pre order now,” she wrote, following up her comment with a direct link to presave her album.
Talking to E! News ahead of the awards show, the blonde bombshell was unapologetic over her sexy new look and giving flirty shoutouts to fellow musicians walking the red carpet.
“I want to be revealing because what do I have to hide, right?” she said cheekily.
“You just gotta be yourself. You gotta just do what feels right to you and that’s it.”
Rexha began her career mainly behind the scenes as a hit maker, writing major tracks like Eminem and Rihanna’s The Monster before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist.
She achieved massive mainstream success through genre-crossing collaborations, most notably the record-breaking country smash Meant to Be with Florida Georgia Line and the global dance anthem I’m Good (Blue) with David Guetta.
She has released three studio albums earning multiple Grammy nominations and establishing herself as a powerhouse pop vocalist known for her unapologetically honest songwriting.
Her new album will be her first released independently.
