The Bulldogs go on the attack, Matt Burton going to the skies with a bomb that’s more carefully placed than blasted, but Jacob Kiraz can’t bring it down cleanly.
The next set they make a break down the left and put more pressure on when Lachie Galvin kicks early in the tackle count, with Stephen Crichton chasing down James Tedesco and tackling him in the in-goal. It’s a dropout.
Now the Roosters are penalised for a dangerous tackle, Billy Smith spearing in low at the legs of a ball-carrier as he was held in the tackle, and the Dogs have all the momentum.
And they make the most of it, Stephen Crichton switching with Connor Tracey into the fullback role, then throwing a cutout pass for Enari Tuala, who cuts inside the last defender to score. Crichton’s conversion attempt is on the money.
