The New York Jets wrapped two days of joint practice with their crosstown rival New York Giants on Wednesday. It represented a worthwhile pair of training camp sessions. Both the Jets and Giants likely felt as the on-field competition improved their respective squads.
The Giants, like the Jets, aren’t predicted to win many games in 2025.

Despite that, one area of their roster is arguably among the best in the NFL. Their pass-rushing trio of Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and rookie No. 3 overall selection Abdul Carter makes up an elite group.
With takle Dexter Lawrence inside, the Giants’ D-line should be extremely effective this year.
The Jets will start sophomore Olu Fashanu at left tackle and rookie top-10 pick Armand Membou at right tackle. Both Fashanu and Membou were consistently tested by the Giants’ pass rushers during joint practices. That will help prepare both ascending talents for life in the NFL.
Thibodeaux beat Membou with power, and then Carter beat Membou with speed during drills on Wednesday, per The Athletic. Burns exploded past Fashanu.

The Jets’ young tackles also took turns winning reps, preparing them for the weekly challenges they’ll encounter:
Fashanu and Membou could be bookend solutions for the Jets for 10-plus seasons.
Over two days of joint practice, the duo saw three outstanding pass rushers (Burns and Carter could be borderline elite). Fashanu and Membou occasionally struggled, but they’ll be better for it.
Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 season.
