Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic has made another appearance with a stringed instrument – this time in an advertisement for Asics.

The Serbian tennis player appears in a short ad promoting the New York Collection of his signature Asics Court FF™ 3 Novak shoe, ahead of the US Open Tennis Championships, which begin next week on 18 August.

In between cinematic shots of powerful groundstrokes, Djokovic can be seen miming playing a violin, with a thoroughly furrowed brow, along to the first movement of ‘Winter’ from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

‘From his first step to his final shot, Novak plays with a rhythm only he can hear, and somehow, we feel every beat of it,’ reads the caption of the video.

Djokovic made headlines in 2024 with his violin-miming celebrations during Wimbledon, in honour of his daughter Tara, who had been learning the instrument for six months at the time.

In August 2024, footage emerged of the 24-time Grand Slam winner ‘playing’ a 1785 Lorenzo Storioni viola belonging to Sarah McElravy. Djokovic and his family had been celebrating his long-sought Olympic gold medal victory with a holiday in Croatia, where they attended an impromptu concert put on by McElravy and Julian Rachlin.

38-year-old Djokovic is due to play at the US Open in a bid for a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam singles title. His last tournament appearance was at this year’s Wimbledon, where he was beaten in the semi-final by eventual men’s champion, Jannik Sinner.
