Jimmy Fallon isn’t letting President Donald Trump’s threats hold him back, as for the opening monologue of his show, he dropped a series of stabs at the Trump administration

It’s no secret that late-night TV hosts have a thing for taking aim at the Trump administration, and Jimmy Fallon is no exception.
On Tuesday’s installment of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, June 2, the 51-year-old opened the show saying, “Trump’s just said they couldn’t care less that peace talks with Iran are collapsing, because they started to get very boring.”
Fallon was referring to President Donald Trump talking about ongoing peace talks with Iran and describing them as “boring” during an interview with CNBC the day before, telling a reporter that he “couldn’t care less. If they’re over, they’re over.” Fallon continued, “Yeah, Trump is losing and bored, also known as monopoly mode. Just take my breath again.
“Oh, and apparently, during a recent call with Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump told Israeli Prime Minister, ‘You’re effing crazy.’ It’s like Pete Hexette, telling Kash Patel, ‘No, you’re drunk.'” Fallon was making a nod to the FBI Director’s heavy media scrutiny over allegations of excessive drinking and on-the-job intoxication.

Patel has vehemently denied the allegations, filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit against The Atlantic, which published the initial report, and retains the backing of the Trump administration.
Fallon wasn’t finished there and went on to take aim at the 79-year-old leader himself. “You guys see this in her new memoir, Jill Biden said that former President Biden would have beaten Trump in 2024.
“She’s right, assuming she’s talking about a soup-eating competition or an Amtrak trivia contest, when he heard that Trump called up Jill Biden and said, ‘I just want to say you’re effing crazy,'” he concluded.
A clip of the monologue was shared on social media, where viewers were quick to chime in. One X user said, “Man.. that is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.”

With a second person joking, “HAHA! Now THIS is comedy! Late night is alive and well!” prompting a third user to add, “War is never the answer.”
“The Iranian people deserve peace, stability, and respect for their sovereignty. It’s time we focus on diplomacy and de-escalation instead of conflict,” they added.
A fourth viewer chimed in, “I love it @FallonTonight Great humor. Don’t you think so, @POTUS @realDonaldTrump #DonnyLiar,” with a fifth pointing out, “Looks like Fallon has decided to kick up the ‘bash Trump continuously’ angle that’s working so well for the other late night shows. Exhausting.”

It comes after fellow late-night show host Stephen Colbert concluded his time on air after CBS axed his long running program. Much like Fallon, Colbert also made a series of jokes at the Trump administration, prompting the president to call him out on Truth Social several times.
CBS canceled The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in May 2026, citing steep financial losses, with the show allegedly losing tens of millions of dollars annually.
However, many critics and industry experts suspect that political factors played a role, given Colbert’s frequent satire of Trump and its timing alongside a massive Paramount-Skydance merger.
