WALLABIES TAKE ON THE BEST IN THE WORLD AS THE RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP KICKS OFF

Hot off the heels of a nail-biting historic series against The British & Irish Lions, the Wallabies are back in action to take on the best rugby sides in the world in The Rugby Championship, including the two must-see Bledisloe Cup showdowns with the All Blacks.

Kicking off this Sunday morning from 12:30am AEST as the Wallabies take on South Africa, every match will be streaming live and on demand with the Wallabies at home in 4K on the Home of Rugby, Stan Sport.

The Wallabies will need to be at their best for Sunday’s opener against the world champion Springboks, where they will look to record their first Test win at Johannesburg’s famed Ellis Park since 1963. They have grown under the leadership of coach Joe Schmidt, and in his last series at the helm, will need to replicate their form from the third match against The British & Irish Lions in order to chase victory.

A strong starting lineup has been announced by the Wallabies, including veteran Nic White who had initially announced his potential retirement, before being recalled due to injury concerns in camp ahead of the first match. The biggest shock in the side however is the return of star no.10 James O’Connor, who makes his return to the green and gold for his 64th Test, the first since 2022.

Meanwhile, the resilient Pumas are chasing their first win over the All Blacks in Argentina in their Rugby Championship opener in Cordoba in what could be a tight contest. Argentina have remarkably beaten New Zealand in Sydney, Christchurch and Wellington since 2020 and would love a repeat of that success in front of their passionate home fans. The All Blacks however are coming off a 3-0 series weep over the dangerous France, putting them in ominous form ahead of the tournament.

The highly anticipated 2025 Bledisloe Cup series between the Wallabies and All Blacks is set to be played across two Tests to cap off The Rugby Championship on September 27 (Eden Park) and October 4 (Perth). The Wallabies have not won the Bledisloe Cup since 2002 and will be looking to reverse their fortunes against their old foe.

Coverage of The Rugby Championship series 2025 will be led by hosts Michael Atkinson and Nick McArdle, joined by experts Michael Hooper, Matt Burke, Sonny Bill Williams, Tim Horan, Morgan Turinui, Justin Harrison and Allana Ferguson with Sean Maloney in commentary.

The three Wallabies home Tests against Argentina and the All Blacks will be streamed in stunning 4K Ultra HD on Stan Sport, and broadcast free-to-air on the 9Network and streamed on 9Now.

In addition to live and on-demand matches, viewers on Stan Sport can enjoy a huge lineup of shows throughout the week including Between Two Posts, Rugby Heaven,Inside Line and more, featuring the best analysis, match reviews and previews and the biggest unfolding storylines on and off the field.
