Clint Stanaway has revealed he and his The Block contestant friend are having a baby, opting for a “co-parenting model”.
Tearing up, the radio host shared on his brekkie radio show on Friday that he is going to become a first-time father.
“I’m going to be a dad,” Stanaway told the Jase, Lauren and Clint show.
Stanaway, 43, went on to say he and his good friend, former The Block contestant Eliza Paschke, have decided go down the “co-parenting model” to have a child.
“I’m going to have a different looking family, but a family that is not going to have any shortage of love in it,” Stanaway shared as best friend Phillips teared up along with their Nova co-host Jase Hawkins.
“I’m going to be having a baby with a really good friend of mine … and we’re going to be using a co-parenting model to have this child.
“I can’t wait for you to meet me little boy or girl.”
A co-parenting model is described as usually involved two or more adults raising a child together as equal partners, regardless of whether they are romantically involved.
Stanaway has openly talked about his current single status, but has previously spoken about his desire to have a family.
In the studio, Jase, Lauren and the whole Nova crew all embraced Clint warmly after the good news.
Eliza, 40, later confirmed that she was, in fact, having a baby with the popular radio host by sharing his announcement video to her public Instagram page.
“So happy to be sharing the experience with this wonderful human,” she wrote, tagging Clint.
“Becoming a mum is something I’ve always thought about and openly discussed,” Eliza wrote, along with a picture of her sonogram.
“Today I’m 16 weeks pregnant, and feeling immensely grateful to be in this position. I know there will be lots of questions, which I’ll answer over time.”
The Aussie reality renovation contestant, who rose to fame on the 2023 season of The Block with younger sister Liberty, has always been very open about starting a family.
She previously revealed she had decided to freeze her eggs at 32.
Stanaway said he almost passed out seeing the first scan.
“It almost took his breath away.”
“Just hearing the heartbeat and seeing your baby there, it was just like “wow this is special”.
He was quick to receive warm wishes from friends and colleagues, including Geelong’s Joel Selwood and Tom Hawkins, radio hosts Jacqui Felgate and Kate Richie, shoe entrepreneur Lana Wilkinson, among others.
