With the victory, Mindoro kept his undefeated record intact at 17 wins, 16 knockouts, and one draw.
Meanwhile, Espadas suffered his ninth defeat against 23 wins, 16 knockouts, and one draw. It was also his third straight loss.
Mindoro, Esplada go the distance
During the fight, Mindoro managed to score a knockdown in the fourth round via a right overhand. However, Espadas recovered from the setback and forced Mindoro into a close-quarter battle.
Mindoro showed his power and timing in the early rounds, tagging Espadas with solid power punches. However, the Mexican stood his ground, absorbed most of the shots, and even returned fire on several occasions.
In the succeeding rounds, particularly in the latter stages, Espadas pressed the action and constantly brought the fight to Mindoro. Still, Mindoro landed the more telling blows that convinced the judges to score the bout in his favor.
