David
Western Australia
The Golden God and winner of Australian Survivor All Stars, David Genat is back for his third go at the game. Affectionally known as DG, he returns to the game as the only winner on his tribe and knows the title will put a target on his back but is ready for the attack. DG says, “I am in the driver’s seat from this game on day one. There’s nowhere for me to hide, they’re all looking at the bus driver. The question is, can I dodge some of those shots when I’m not looking at them? How good am I? Am I like Neo in The Matrix?” Hoping to be reunited with some of his favourite alliance friends, DG says, “I would love to see Luke out here, get the Dream Team back together. There was a magic that happened when we played together. I’d love to see if we can replicate that or try to take each other out. I consider him to be the best Australian Survivor player who hasn’t won.” After recently appearing on and winning Deal Or No Deal Island, he’s also hoping to join up with his alliance member on that show, US superstar player Parvati. He says, “Parvati and I worked really well together on DONDI so I’d love to see her. I would love to see one of the Mount Rushmore – Parvati, Boston, Rob, Sandra or Tony out here. They’re put up on this pedestal and you know, I got my spray can, I’m ready to do some graffiti on their faces. Maybe chip some of the noses off those statues.”

George
New South Wales
King George from Bankstown has become one of the most famous faces of Australian Survivor after his play in Brains v Brawn and Heroes v Villains. As runner up in 2020, George has come so close each time he’s played but is yet to take out the win but feels confident this could be the year. He says, “Australian Survivor v The World is going to be the best season ever. Buckle up! I’m going to win by being glorious like I’ve always been. I will wield my axe when I need to, make friends, vote off my enemies and lose a lot of weight because I’m coming in with a dad bod. “I’m going to win this season because that’s the final piece of the puzzle and will cement the legacy of Australian Survivor as the best in the world. There’s a lot of pressure on my shoulders but I’m going to do it.” Hoping to live out his Survivor dream of working with the biggest players around the world, George says, “I want to see all those American legends that I loved as a kid. If I can see Tony or Parvati, these people that I idolise, that would be exciting for me. Am I scared of anybody? Do you think King George gets scared by other Survivor players? Baby, they’re scared of me!”

Janine
New South Wales
Australian business mogul Janine returns for her second season after making waves as the Godmother in Champions v Contenders in Fiji. Having not played since 2018, Janine has fond memories of the last time and while friendships have been formed outside the game with her old tribemates, she knows you must fight to keep your place on Survivor. She says, “I don’t want to see David because I think he’ll vote me out. I would love to see my bestie Pia out here because the biggest currency in this game is trust. If you’ve got it, you’ve got to spend it wisely.” As the founder of Boost Juice and Retail Zoo, Janine knows how to work hard and get what you want saying, “If I was looking for similarities between business and Survivor, the key one is have the end in mind and work back from that. The end in mind is winning and now I’ve got to work back from that. What do I need to do every day to achieve my goal of winning? Outwit, outplay and outlast. “I’m going to win this game like I do in business – I just try harder and never give up. I have the grit to get to the end.”

Kirby
Victoria
Coming fifth in last year’s Titans v Rebels, Kirby became one of the most loved players from that series for her tactical game play and cheeky personality. Anointed the Rebel Queen, Kirby might have come into the game the first time without much prior knowledge of the game but that’s all changed this time around. Kirby says, “My game will be the same, but better, on steroids. There will be lies and manipulation. I’m going to win by being a triple threat. “I’m going to use my charisma and that’s how I’m going to win. Be strategic, plant seeds, manipulate.” She also knows how to adapt and let people think they are in control which Kirby is hoping will help her stay in the game to the end, she says, “I am an Aboriginal woman in Australia, and we’re not considered the top of the food chain. I’ve worked in mainstream construction, mining, AFL, male dominated sports and environments. So, I’ve always known to take a back seat and allow people to feel empowered that they’re in control of what I’m doing. “Being on Australia v The World is huge for me as I’m the first ever Aboriginal player representing Australia on the world stage in this game. I can’t wait to get started and after playing last year, I know more about what I’m doing.”

Luke
Western Australia
Fan favourite and one of the most popular players Australian Survivor has seen, Luke returns for his third season. The King of the Jungle known for his fun antics, Luke has played in Season two and Champions v Contenders in 2019 where he cemented his friendship with DG. Coming fourth in Champions v Contenders, the Australian public got behind him and started a Go Fund Me page which raised the prize money for him and his family. Returning to Samoa, Luke says, “I’m not here so much for revenge. I think I’m seeking redemption. I’m very fortunate to be able to play this game, it’s changed my life. I don’t think anyone has been as blessed as I have coming out of a show and being able to come back again.” The father of three from WA, Luke also appeared on The Traitors and Big Brother VIP. And while he’s always come close, he’s never made it to the final of Survivor and hopes his experience will pay off this time. He says, “I think my approach to this game could change because I haven’t been out here for a little bit. Maybe come with a bit more patience, not be so gung-ho but the one thing that will not change is I will be going out to have as much fun as possible – at other people’s expense.”

Sarah
New South Wales
Nearly 10 years since she last played the game, Sarah returns for her second season. Known for her sneaky and fun gameplay, she was last in Samoa in 2016 but her love for the game has not faltered. Sarah says, “If you’re a student of this game and you consider yourself a fan of Survivor, this is the big exam. This is a must watch compulsory learning session.” Hoping to use her social skills to keep her in the game, Sarah says she also learnt her downfall last time and hopes to play a different game, saying, “I got 44 days into the game last time because I had so many relationships across different alliances. But my undoing was being stretched too thin, and my true alliances didn’t feel like I was really loyal so this time I want to nurture those authentic relationships.” Sarah admits she doesn’t think she’s physically very strong, but her strategic planning and sweet nature will be her biggest assets in the game. A true fan of the series, she’s very excited to play with some of her heroes. “The people I really want to see would be Kirby, David, Luke and George. On the international level, I’d love to see Parvati, Cirie and the Mount Rushmore of Survivor – Boston Rob, Sandra, Johnny Fairplay. It will be wild!”

Shonee
Queensland
Having clocked the most days playing Australian Survivor, Shonee returns for her fourth season. in Champions v Contenders in 2017 to All Stars to Heroes v Villains, she has played more than anyone else in Australia and isn’t going to let anyone stop her this time. “Fourth time putting on my buff, my game is going to be a little different. It’s going to be short and sharp so I’m going to play a new way. I don’t really need a number one BFF ally like I have the other times. I’m planning on being more fluid and less tunnel vision – except when it comes to getting revenge on George.” As a new mum, leaving behind her baby is the hardest thing for Shonee but coming to play with the best was too big an opportunity for her and she says, “I’ve got my red dress on, my platforms and I’m ready to try my best. This is going to be the most insane showdown ever, it’s the Olympics of Survivor.” Hoping to see her old bestie then nemesis George, Shonee is ready for revenge but always with her usual fashionista way. “I love bringing a little bit of fashion to this remote island. I’ve got my platforms, but I’ve upgraded this time – no crocs, we’re going for Gucci instead.”

The World

Cirie
USA
Known as one of the best players to never win, Cirie has played US Survivor four times and is a fan favourite for her social and strategic game play. US Survivor host Jeff Probst calls Cirie, ‘the woman who got up off the couch and played Survivor,’ she knows the Americans will have big targets on their backs. She says, “After playing Survivor four times in 121 days, I still have the ability to lessen my threat level and play under the radar. I’m the one to beat because I am a dark horse. There are so many big players in this game and they’ll all target each other while I slide my way to the end.” Cirie is a nurse and most recently won the US version of The Traitors and has appeared on Big Brother. Calling this the championship of Survivor, she’s most looking forward to meeting some of the Aussies she’s been watching from afar. “My dream opponent would probably be King George. I think we’re kind of similar and my worst nightmare who I would not want to face is Hayley. I love her but she’s very good. “This season will by no means be a breeze, this lineup will be huge and it’s going to be a battle every day out here.”

Kass
Quebec
Competitive and a challenge beast, Kass played Survivor Quebec where she came runner up. Kass wants her tribe to underestimate her and use the fact that English is her second language to make them think she can’t keep up. She says, “My game plan to win is playing the role of this sweet little Canadian girl. I had a perfect game, I was loyal, I was good at it except for the fact that I didn’t win.” A web editor, Kass played her season in the Philippines and is ready to try her second season on the world stage in Samoa. She says, “It’s going to be fast, it’s going to be intense and it’s going to be fun. “There are so many players I’d love to face but I really love the character of George. I love how he thinks, how he plays and pretends he’s a king with a kingdom and his legacy. I would love to play with him out here.” After going so far the first time, Kass is hoping to use the skills she learnt to progress her game and knows the importance of a strong social game and adaptability. She says, “I have imposter syndrome in life and I attribute a lot of my success to luck but on Survivor, I was in control of my game and my successes. I owe them to myself!”

Lisa
New Zealand
Winner of Survivor New Zealand, Lisa is a librarian from New Zealand who defied the odds in her season in 1028. A Survivor superfan, Lisa is not one to overlook as she knows the game inside out and isn’t afraid to play hard. She jokes, “I played New Zealand Survivor in Thailand and I’m the once and reigning champion but that’s because it got cancelled after my year. “In my season, a lot of the people were playing Candyland and I was playing Checkers. Now a lot of people are going to be playing Chess and I’ve got to see if I can up my game.” A mum and librarian, Lisa is thrilled to be on the World team and play with some of her heroes saying, “My all-time favourite player is Cirie. It’s always been Cirie. I would either die from the fan-ness of it or she would beat me, and I would love it either way.” Lisa is a self-confessed ‘really good Survivor player’ and has watched every season of US Survivor since it began and playing the game with her idols is a dream come true.

Parvati
USA
The Queen of Survivor and also known as The Black Widow, Parvati is Survivor royalty after playing four times already and winning once. Playing Survivor since 2006, Parvati knows the game and her reputation for being one of the best players out there, saying, “I played four seasons, and I think I was a standout in every one. Not to toot my own horn but I really made a name for myself in the story of Survivor. When I won, I did so by being the black widow – bringing the women together and blindsiding the men. “I think I might be the most dangerous player out here because I think I will be underestimated and overestimated simultaneously.” Knowing the level of competition will be high when she’s up against the best around the world but it’s a challenge Parvati is ready for. She says there’s not a lot of space to hide in a quick 16-day game. “This is my fifth game, it’s going to be hard, the level of competition is really high. This sassy bad girl can’t hide but I’m fearless and I’m willing to do whatever it takes.”

Rob
South Africa
Winner of Survivor South Africa, Rob’s streak of Immunity wins and his social game made him forever known as King of Survivor SA. Playing in 2019, Rob is a challenge beast with natural charisma and a strategic mind, and he says he’s ready to play with the best from around the world. Rob says, “Never has it happened in history that there’s an overlay of the best players on earth from all different corners of the world. My ultimate dream would be to play with Boston Rob – I watched him as a kid growing up and he ignited the Survivor flame in me as a young boy.” Physically strong, Rob dominated in challenges during his season and his strong social connections gave him the win and he’s here to prove it was not a fluke. He says, “I was never in danger in my season, but I’ll need to be careful when I’m playing against the best in the world this time. I want them to think I’m innocent and to forget about me. “There’s no question Australians are tough in Survivor, but they’ve never come across an African. And that will be their downfall.”

Tommi
Finland
Runner up in Survivor Finland, Tommi is a radio presenter and journalist who plays an analytical strategic game. Losing in his final Tribal Council by one vote, Tommi is back to take the win and is counting on his tribemates to not have watched the Finnish version and therefore underestimate his smiling and light demeanour. Tommi says, “I want to go a little bit under the radar because no one knows this guy from Finland. Like, you have seen all the US and Australian seasons, but you’re going to be surprised by me. We have really good players in Finland and I’m going to show the world that.” Admitting playing on the world stage is a huge move, Tommi says it’s still the same game at the end of the day and only room for one Sole Survivor. He says, “I had everything in my season to be the winner except that one jury vote, if I had that then I would have done it. I’m a complete package – I’m athletic, I’ve got the social game and I’m good at camp.”

Tony
USA
As one of only two players to win twice, Tony is the King of Survivor. Brash, exciting and ranked by Jeff Probst as fourth in his Top 10 Survivor players of all time, Tony will be playing his fourth game. Tony is a New Jersey police officer and has won $3 million playing the game. He says, “I’m known for my spy shacks, for winning Immunity, building fires and I’m going for my third win. I always want to do better than I did before so I’m out here competing with myself. “My secret to conquering the game is adaptability, that’s going to be the key to my success. But coming into this game as a two-time winner, I’m going to be one of the biggest targets. Never one to back down from a fight, Tony is a fan of the Aussie players and is excited to go up against them, saying, “I absolutely see Australian Survivor players as a threat because they have called us here for a challenge. They’re going to give their best performance and I’m hoping they do. I can’t wait for it!”
