60′ Munro goes BANG!

What a tackle from Tyrone Munro!

The Eels are making their way from centre to left, and Josh Addo-Carr is steaming forward.

He receives the ball and looks destined to dive over.

But.

Munro comes from absolutely nowhere and comes up clutch with a MASSIVE tackle.

Josh Addo-Carr is not just knocked down but knocked off the field!

Souths crash over to take the lead!

Really strong running from Tallis Duncan.

The youngster filling in at left centre receives the ball from Cody Walker.

He charges through like a steam train, fends off a couple Parra bodies and just about gets the ball over the line.

It’s a great, powerful try.

The conversion is missed.

Souths 14

Parra 12

48′ Gray keeping Souths in it

What a passage of play from Jye Gray.

Parramatta is breaking incisively through the middle and catching Souths short on numbers.

Will Penisini looks destined to make his way to the tryline, but Gray comes from nowhere to come up with a clutch try-saving tackle down low.

He dusts himself off and then does it again!

And then collects the kick that comes on the last.

Stirring stuff from the fullback.

22m agoSat 16 Aug 2025 at 10:46am

45′ Lomax with a big play

Inspiring stuff from Zac Lomax, who rises high around halfway, collects the ball, dummies past a couple, palms off a couple more, and makes some good ground on the first for Parra.

He is so fun to watch at his best.

Parra pain to begin the second half

And just like in the first half, the second half starts with a Parramatta player grimacing in pain!

Josh Addo-Carr is brought down by Jacob Host, who is put on report for a hip drop motion.

The Foxx is back to his feet but is limping slightly.

We’ll keep you updated.

There mightn’t be a whole lot riding on this one, but that was a really entertaining first half of football.

It’s concluded by Isaiah Iongi mopping up a probing Rabbitohs kick into the goal area.

And after the siren, Mitch Moses is told he has been put on report for some high contact.

He’s clearly not happy about it, looking exasperated and pleading his innocence.

Earlier, the Eels came out swinging but were unable to make the most of their early territorial advantage.

Tyrone Munro went over as the Rabbitohs took an early lead against the run of play, but the Eels hit back well.

They scored two well-worked tries down the right before Peter Mamouzelos kept the Bunnies within touching distance moments before the break.

48m agoSat 16 Aug 2025 at 10:21amMamouzelos makes Parramatta pay!

Souths are still in this one!

The Rabbitohs are gifted a set restart only a matter of metres out from the line, but they don’t have to use it.

Peter Mamouzelos receives the ball out of dummy half, throws a shimmy, sells a couple Eels and lunges forward for the Bunnies’ second try of the day.

The conversion is good from right in front.

It’s a two-point game with just a couple minutes until half-time.

54m agoSat 16 Aug 2025 at 10:14amParramatta goes back-to-back!

The Eels have daylight!

And you’d have to be a pretty one-eyed Bunnies supporter to say they don’t deserve it.

It’s a really pacey, incisive move down the right, with Will Penisini providing the final, telling pass to the on-rushing Zac Lomax.

He charges forward and dives over and the Eels have their second four-pointer of the match.

The conversion is missed from wide on the right.

1h agoSat 16 Aug 2025 at 10:09amEels hit the lead!

Lovely stuff from Parramatta.

The Eels break down the right, and Kelma Tuilagi plays a beautiful little pass as he’s being tackled.

It’s out the back of the hand and straight into the path of Isaiah Iongi, who rushes forward and dives over.

The conversion is good from straight in front.

8-4 Parramatta.

1h agoSat 16 Aug 2025 at 10:03am20′ Bentley-Hape ruled out with concussion

Not good news for the Rabbitohs.

Bayleigh Bentley-Hape – in the team for the injured Latrell Mitchell – takes a really rough hit, wearing a Will Penisini hip to the head.

It’s unintentional stuff, but Bentley-Hape is clearly struggling and is ushered off the field for a HIA immediately.

And it’s confirmed very quickly that Bentley-Hape will not return to the field.

He’s out with a category one concussion.

1h agoSat 16 Aug 2025 at 9:54amMunro scores for Souths!

They have been well and truly on the back foot early on in Sydney, but South Sydney has scored the first try of the game.

It’s a really lovely set play from the Bunnies, with Jye Gray funnelling out wide on the last.

He lays the ball off to the on-rushing Tyrone Munro, who still has a fair bit to do.

But he does it well, accelerating forward and diving over for the first try of the day.

The conversion is missed from well the sideline.

Souths 4-2.

1h agoSat 16 Aug 2025 at 9:44amTwo Warriors sent off early as Raiders get first NRLW win(AAP)

The Raiders are finally off the mark in round seven of the NRLW season, holding on for a 20-16 win over the Warriors, who played with 11 women for two-thirds of the game.

Jordyn Preston and Sereana Naitokatoka opened the scoring for the Raiders in Waikato before things devolved.

Matekino Gray was sent for a nasty lifting tackle on Chloe Saunders, and three minutes later Tysha Ikenasio was also dismissed for a rank hip drop on Monalisa Soliola that forced her out of the game.

Both teams finished with four tries, with only Zehara Temara’s two goals separating them in the end.

5′ Eels go 2-0 up, Papalii rocks a new look

Joash Papalii is rocking quite the look out there tonight.

His hair has been dyed a bright white/yellow and is attracting a lot of the screen time.

According to the Fox commentators, he forgot his towel at training and was forced into the new look as a punishment.

Meanwhile, the Eels open the scoring courtesy of a Zac Lomax penalty goal.

2-0 Parramatta.

We’re underway in Sydney

Souths have kicked off and Parramatta has first use.

And it’s an awful start for the Eels!

Luca Moretti is limping straight away, it looks like he’s tweaked something.

However, he’s playing on for now.

We’ll keep you updated.

1h agoSat 16 Aug 2025 at 9:36amSouths-Eels late mail(NRL)

No late changes for Souths, who are without champion Latrell Mitchell, who has pulled a nerve in his back. Cody Walker is back on the bench.

For the Eels, Isaiah Iongi makes his long-awaited return from his hand injury.

We’re moments away from kick-off.

1h agoSat 16 Aug 2025 at 9:24amFULL-TIME: Broncos win a gripping Battle of Brisbane 38-28(AAP)

When it was 14-14 at half-time, I think we were all expecting a classic arm wrestle in that second half, but instead it turned into a shootout.

After Trai Fuller’s try in the opening set of the second half and Jeremy Marshall-King’s dummy-half sneak, it looked like the Broncos might be shot.

But then, from Reece Walsh’s clutch 40/20 onwards, Brisbane scored four straight phenomenal tries, with Josiah Karapani’s dubbed “one of the tries of the season”, to get the win.

“That’s one of the best games of rugby league I’ve seen from an entertainment point of view,” ABC Sport expert commentator Billy Moore says.

The Broncos briefly dropped outside the top eight on the live ladder early in the second stanza, but have now surely locked in a place in the finals and will keep pushing for a top-four spot.

1h agoSat 16 Aug 2025 at 9:22am

78′ The Dolphins can’t strike the final blow

The Broncos concede an intentional scrum penalty so they don’t have to face a scrumbase play. Referee Wyatt Raymond warns Pat Carrigan if it happens again someone will be sin-binned.

Regardless, the Dolphins still have the Broncos shot to bits as Isaiya Katoa shows, shows and goes. He hits Jake Averillo after creating the overlap, but Averillo can’t handle, and that will be the Dolphins done tonight.

76′ Deine Mariner and Jordan Riki not happy with each other

Payne Haas’s offload unleashes Jordan Riki down the right. Deine Mariner calls for the pass out wide, but Riki wants Mariner to come back in behind him.

Ultimately they run into a dead end and Riki’s pass trickles over the sideline.

Mariner gives him a bake. And Riki doesn’t appreciate it too much.
