Cricket Australia has scrapped the national women’s team’s T20 series against Bangladesh after the ICC unexpectedly brought forward the inaugural Women’s Champions Trophy.
Earlier this month, the ICC announced that the eight-team tournament, to be played in Sri Lanka in 2027, had been moved from June-July to February, clashing with Australia’s home series against New Zealand.
CA was subsequently forced to shuffle its 2026/27 fixture list, originally announced in March, revealing the revised schedule on Thursday afternoon.

Under the new schedule, Australia’s T20 series against New Zealand has been brought forward to October at the expense of a three-match series against Bangladesh, which has been abandoned.
Meanwhile, Australia’s ODI series against the White Ferns has been pushed back a few days, now commencing in Canberra on March 6.
Sophie Molineux’s team will also play New Zealand at Melbourne’s Junction Oval on the March 8 Labor Day public holiday, which is also International Women’s Day.
“After the recent notification by the ICC about the change to the Champions Trophy dates, we’ve produced a revised schedule that provides the best possible outcomes for the teams and fans,” CA Head of Scheduling and Cricket Operations Peter Roach said in a statement.
“We’re particularly excited that women’s cricket will feature prominently in the lead up to the 150th Anniversary Test with the historic first international match under lights at Junction Oval.
“We are thankful to Bangladesh and NZ for their cooperation and understanding – particularly NZ for agreeing to travel to Australia twice.”
