THIS weekend’s Darwin Triple Crown will mark the first Northern Territory Supercars event not shown live on free-to-air television in half a dozen years.
One of the key outcomes of the championship’s new-for-2026 broadcast deal with Fox/Kayo and the Seven Network was a one-round reduction in the annual live FTA component.
That came as a means of adding value to the Fox spend, which is understood to account for about 84 percent of the purported four-year, $200 million agreement.
Darwin was the casualty from an FTA perspective, with Sydney Motorsport Park, Townsville, Bathurst, Gold Coast and Adelaide all retaining their slots on Seven (while Albert Park formed part of Ten’s Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix coverage).
Hidden Valley had become a staple of the Supercars free-to-air offering, including in each of Supercars’ past five visits.
It also had an FTA presence in 2020, but only for the first of two back-to-back rounds there during that season’s COVID-affected calendar.
There will be a Supercars race each day across this weekend’s June 19-21 meeting, with all sessions live and ad-free via Fox/Kayo.
The Friday action will start from 10:30am AEST, with TV kick-off scheduled for 9am AEST on both Saturday and Sunday.
