Kmart is about to release a new homewares range, and a few lucky Aussies who have been given a sneak peek are obsessing over a stylish $19 lamp.
The brown Marble Portable Rechargeable Lamp quickly caught the eye of shoppers after videos of the product surfaced online.
While the lamp is smaller than average, it would be the perfect addition to your living room coffee table, study, or reading nook — and won’t leave ugly cords clogging up your space.
Tegan Porter told Yahoo Lifestyle was pleasantly surprised by the quality, noting the rechargeable feature was a “huge selling point”.
“I was actually really impressed with it, especially for the price,” she said.

“The marble base gives it a much more premium feel than I expected from a Kmart homeware item, and it definitely feels sturdy and well-made.”
Kmart buyer Nicholas Holmes told Yahoo Lifestyle that premium feel was as the lamp is made from “real marble”.
“It’s got real weight to it,” Nicholas said.
He said the Kmart team had spent the last six to 12 months working on the new “aspiration trend”, which will start to land in stores from June 22.
“We’re always wanting to give more every season, like how can we improve?”

The chic yet affordable lamp has three lighting settings, which you can flick through with a gentle touch on the top sensor.
It’s rechargeable and comes with a USB cable, so you don’t need to worry about batteries or any long cables.
Tegan praised the cordless design, telling Yahoo Lifestyle it was easy to move throughout the home without worrying about power points or messy cables.

“So far, the charge has lasted quite well for me,” she said.
“I love that I can move it around easily and style it in lots of different spaces in my home.”
Kmart appears to be tapping into the brown colourway trend sweeping through stores at the moment.
The online reaction so far indicates that this could be another sell-out item.
“God, I hope they’ve made millions of these because I can see them being off the shelf in two seconds,” one wrote.
“I want this,” another said.
“No way, I’m obsessed,” a third added.
Kmart unveils new K Home store
Kmart is also opening a brand-new store tomorrow, and it’s set to alleviate a major pain point for shoppers looking for homewares.
K Home will be dedicated solely to homewares, and Yahoo Lifestyle got an early access ahead of the Australian-first grand opening in Box Hill, Melbourne, on June 18.

Nearly every item available for sale will be on display.
Kmart general manager for store experience, Courtny Keeble, told Yahoo Lifestyle this would put an extra 170 homeware items in the warehouse compared to any other Kmart store in the country.
