Port Adelaide midfielder Ollie Wines is set to miss the farewell game of his coach Ken Hinkley and teammate Travis Boak after being handed a three-match ban for a heavy hit during the Power’s 54-point loss to the Blues on Saturday.

In the second quarter of the clash at Marvel Stadium, Wines bumped Blues midfielder Cooper Lord.

Wines elected to bump after Lord intercepted a handball and attempted to get a kick away.

Lord was collected high and was later substituted out of the game with a concussion.

The incident was deemed rough conduct by match review officer Michael Christian, and graded as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact.

As a result, a three-match ban has been offered, which would include the first two games of next season.

In a club statement, Port Adelaide said it would consider whether or not to contest the suspension.

The Power will play the Suns in their last game of the season on Friday night at Adelaide Oval.

The match will be the last hurrah for Hinkley and veteran midfielder Boak, who announced his retirement earlier this month.

Boak will end his AFL career with 387 senior games, while Hinkley’s coaching career will be remembered for pulling Port Adelaide out of the depths to become a consistent finals contender, even though a grand final berth eluded him.

Wines, the 2021 Brownlow Medallist, has been a constant presence alongside both Boak and Hinkley throughout their journey.

Gold Coast is set to be without midfielder Alex Davies for the game after he was also handed a one-match ban.

Davies was cited for rough conduct on midfielder Ryan Angwin. The incident was graded as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
