There’s renewed chatter of a seventh season to film in 2026.

Mother of God! Speculation is gathering on a potential seventh season of Line of Duty.

Speaking on BBC Radio, actor Adrian Dunbar teased that “hopefully that’s going to happen”, adding: “We’re all keeping our fingers crossed, just waiting on the BBC to make an announcement.

“I know Jed [Mercurio]’s working away,” he said. “And I know me and Vicky [McClure] and Martin [Compston] really want to do it. So hopefully next year we’ll be back in Belfast and rattling around the town making a nuisance of ourselves.

“The wheels are turning on that. It’s just down to the BBC to make an announcement.”

However in May co-star Martin Compston indicated nothing was imminent, saying the cast had projects into next year.

“We really care about the quality of it. So if we come back, it would be for the right reasons,” he said.

“It won’t just be: ‘Get another one done.’ It’ll be because Jed thinks there’s a story to tell.”
