The 2026/27 calendar will expand from 17 races to 21 with the addition of Circuit of the Americas, Brands Hatch, and Zandvoort.
Several changes have been made to the calendar between Season 12 and Season 13.
Namely, Saudi Arabia’s high-speed Jeddah street circuit will host the season opener, replacing Brazil’s street race in Sao Paulo, which moves from its December date to March.
The only circuit missing from the calendar year-on-year is London’s ExCeL, which is replaced by Brands Hatch.
The changes were agreed upon by the FIA World Motor Sport Council this week.
To coincide with the calendar announcement, the FIA also announced two formats for its double-header weekends.

Formula E will have what it calls a classic efficiency race or “E-Prix” in which cars will be configured in low-downforce mode with Pit Boost.
Those races will be 45 minutes long with an eight-minute attack mode.
There will also be shorter, performance races dubbed “E-PrixUnleashed” that will not feature pit boost and will configure cars in their high-downforce mode.
Those races will be 30 minutes long with a six-minute attack mode.
Teams will know formats three weeks out from each event.
Regulations-wise, Formula E will also introduce a wet weather tyre in addition to its all-purpose radial.
Bonus points will also be awarded, with one point for reaching the Duels, one point for each Duel won, and one point for winning the Final Duel (Pole Position).

“Expanding to 21 races across 13 iconic cities is a huge milestone, and welcoming world-renowned tracks like COTA in Austin, Zandvoort, and Brands Hatch provides the ultimate stage to showcase our new GEN4 era.
“Every stop on this calendar has been chosen to deliver maximum sporting drama.
“Launching the season with our first-ever opener under the lights in Jeddah to showcase the speed of these GEN4 cars sets a spectacular tone, while grouping our races into distinct continental clusters ensures we do so as sustainably as possible.
“The tracks are faster, the competition is fiercer, and we cannot wait to get this historic season underway.”
The 2026/27 season will begin with a double-header in Jeddah on December 18-19.
