Basset Park racecourse was the place to be for rugby and racing enthusiasts alike on Saturday, June 20.
The 2026 Roma Rugby races kicked off at 10.30am, with plenty of games running all day to keep fans glued trackside.
The Roma Echidnas and the Chinchilla River Rats C grade sides opened the day at 10.15am, before the B grade sides, the Condamine Cods vs the St George Frillnecks, took to the field at 3pm.
The ladies then showed off their rugby prowess during the 4.10pm Roma Echidnettes vs Condamine Codettes game.
As the sun began to set, the Roma Echidnas and Condamine Cods A grade sides played at 5.15pm.
Rounding things off, a GPS game between Ipswich Grammar and St Joseph’s Nudgee College gave spectators a chance to watch some schoolboy rugby at 6.45pm.
In between all the rugby, a six-race program kept horses on the track from 12pm to 3pm.
