Augusta Jones, daughter of late cricket great Dean Jones, has had her dream wedding in Germany.
Jones married Simon Duden surrounded by family and friends who’d flown over for the happy occasion.
Augusta’s sister Phoebe shared images and video of the special day with her mother, Jane Jones, by her side.
She said Augusta was so “ridiculously beautiful it was almost jaw dropping”.
“Flew to Germany with my husband, watched my little sister become a wife, cried the whole day and ate everything. Perfectly executed trip,’’ Phoebe posted to social media.
“Aschaffenburg really said we’re not doing things by halves and delivered a full fairytale — pink kirche, cobblestones, carnival, fireworks, castles and all.”
Mum Jane also described the day as magical, while Augusta commented on her sister’s post: “I love you so much, thank you for being part of our special day. Could not have done it without you. How blessed I am to have you as a sister.”
Phoebe said Duden’s family were the “best humans” — his parents had welcomed them like they’d always been theirs and his brother had looked after them at every turn.
“We showed up as guests and somehow left feeling like family. That’s the magic right there,’’ she continued.
“Simon — you got the best one (I’m biased obviously). I know you will take care of her as you always have.”
Phoebe married her partner Dario Gomez two years ago on the island of Boracay and made a touching tribute to her father with the number 324 embroidered on the base of her veil.
Dean Jones was Australia’s 324th Test cricketer and his highest first class score was 324.
Jones, 59, passed away in September 2020 which shocked the cricket world and those close to him.
He had been in India and was preparing to commentate an IPL match when he suffered a stroke at his Mumbai hotel.
