A guest who attended a party at Le Club 55 earlier this month told The Daily Mail that Beatrice’s husband of six years was “behaving as if he was single” as he shared a $180 bottle of wine with the likes of actress Amanda Holden and former model Kelly Brook, while his wife was “too sick” to leave her bed.

Now, royal expert Paula Froelich has weighed in on rumours regarding the couple’s relationship on Tom Sykes’ The Royalist podcast, predicting there may be trouble in paradise.

UK monarchy support plummets to lowest rate in 33 years

“She [Beatrice] called him [Edoardo] her rock, but here’s the problem. If you’ve got a rock, you would think that the rock would stick around in stormy weather,” she said.

Froelich claims Edoardo has been “in and out all year”, enjoying frequent business trips to the States while Beatrice faces renewed scrutiny in the United Kingdom, a result of her father Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest earlier this year on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Now, as Beatrice, 37, and Edoardo, 42, enjoyed a “lovely, fun, romantic” vacation in St Tropez at the invitation of their friend and author Gabriela Peacock, Froelich pointed out that the eldest York daughter continues to lack support from her husband.

“She got sick. So what did her rock do?” the commentator questioned.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie come out of hiding to make ‘tense’ appearance at Royal wedding

“Well, he left her in bed and went out and partied with Gabriela, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan, because nothing says ‘I love you and I’m here for you, through health and illness’, than partying.”

Froelich’s scathing response to Edoardo’s wild act comes after he slammed critics of his marriage with a brutal four-word response.

In March, a well-placed source told the Mail on Sunday the property developer was “pulling away” from his wife in the wake of Andrew’s arrest in order to protect his company Banda from the controversy plaguing the family.

“Things haven’t been great for a while between them, but Beatrice has been determined to soldier on and forge a path through,” the source told the publication.

Andrew is corroding the Royals’ legitimacy as a ‘permanent source of reputational damage’

“She wants to stay together, but he seems more and more distracted by work and travel. Just when she needs him most, he’s been pulling away.”

Earlier this month, the 42-year-old hit back at comments regarding his work life, telling The Daily Mail it was “completely normal” to go on trips abroad to support his company.

“As you well know, it is completely normal for a business owner to travel for work,” he told the outlet.

“It happens in every industry.”
