After not being selected in the NBA draft, University of Houston point guard Milos Uzan found a home Thursday. He will have a familiar neighbor.
Uzan signed as an undrafted free agent with the Boston Celtics, reuniting with teammate Chris Cenac Jr., who was the 27th pick in the first round of the NBA draft.
Uzan, who was projected as a late second round pick, agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract, which is a one-year, non-guaranteed deal for the league minimum salary.
A playmaking guard, Uzan averaged at least 11 points and four assists in two seasons with the Cougars. He played his first two college seasons at Oklahoma before transferring to UH, where he was tabbed the successor to All-American point guard Jamal Shead in 2024. One of Uzan’s biggest moments came in the 2025 NCAA Tournament when he scored on an in-bounds play in the closing seconds to beat Purdue in the Sweet 16. UH advanced to the national championship game.
“Every basketball player wants a path to his dreams and goals. Milos Uzan has his opportunity,” UH coach Kelvin Sampson posted on social media. “That’s all he needs. So proud of the person and winner he is. Continue to chase your dreams you have a lot of people with you every step of the way.”
