Game Recap: Bulls vs Whai
Result: Franklin Bulls (79) are defeated by Tauranga Whai (93)
In the pregame interviews, the Whai made a point of trying to slow down the import trio of Carter, Boyd and Whitt. In retaliation, Dom Kelman-Poto decided it was his opportunity to step up, and step up he did. The Franklin forward would begin on a scorcher, putting up 21 points in the first half. 7-7 from the field and 7-8 from the free throw line. The second half however, would belong to the Whai. They came out of the gates more cohesively on defence and were able to hold the home side to just 13 points in the third and 15 points in the fourth. Taine Murray would lead the way offensively, as he’d put up 29 points alongside leading his team with 6 boards. Ultimately, the Whai would take the win down the stretch in Franklin.
