HERSEY — Angels of Action is putting together a golf outing for a good cause.
The non-profit that provides school lunches, clothes, necessities and other services to local children is hosting a Christmas in July golf outing beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m. at Spring Valley Golf Course, located at 18369 U.S. 10, Hersey. The outing officially begins with a 10 a.m. shotgun start for a 4-person scramble.
According to the event’s flyer, the outing will benefit the Gift for Kids Christmas program to give children Christmas presents.
The event’s Facebook page lists lunch, an auction, swag bags and dinner will all be part of the event. Santa Claus will also be making an appearance. The cost is $400 per team and spots for teams are still available.
“Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting out, this event is perfect for all skill levels,” the event page reads. “Bring your friends, enjoy the beautiful weather and support a great cause!”
Shavon Jane, the event coordinator and donor relations specialist for Angels of Action, said this fundraiser has helped benefit Osceola County for over 20 years and this is the first year for Angels of Action to take the lead on running the event.
“It’s an amazing organization,” Jane said of Angels of Action. “All of us that work there, it’s because we want to do it. We love the kids and we love the kids in our area. It’s pretty amazing, I love it with my whole heart and soul.”
