TICKFORD Supercars debutant-in-waiting Campbell Logan will get his maiden shot on the big stage in a seat that he originally turned down.
Logan will pair up with Super2 teammate Ben Gomersall for a one-off main game wildcard at The Bend 500 in September.
The news was announced this morning, hot on the heels of the Tasmanian’s breakout weekend in Darwin where he claimed his first Super2 race and round wins.
“It’s been a pretty cool last week or so for sure,” Logan told V8 Sleuth.
“We all race Super2 because we want to try break into the main series, so to be co-driving at The Bend is something I’m really excited for.”
Logan revealed the stop-start timeline behind making the dream opportunity a reality.
“It all came about pretty quickly, to be honest,” he said.
“I ruled myself out pretty early for the wildcard program earlier in the year (i.e. prior to Round 1 in February), but a few things happened which allowed me to be able to pursue it, and the team were always really keen for the Autosport program to be running the wildcard and have full Autosport drivers within it.
“A few factors played out in the last two or three weeks which allowed me to sign and I’m really excited for it.”
With no Super2 at The Bend, Tickford will be able to divert its Dunlop Series staff onto the wildcard effort.
Unlike last year, they won’t double up for the Repco Bathurst 1000 (where Super2 will feature).

“To race in the 1000 is such a dream and hopefully I’ll get there one day… but I want to win the Super2 championship,” said Logan.
“That’s where my immediate focus is and to be able to get a bit of experience co-driving and make my debut in Supercars at a separate round to Super2 I think is just an absolute bonus for me.”
Logan tested on The Bend’s West circuit as a Super2 rookie with Walkinshaw Andretti United.
His only prior Gen3 mileage came in February aboard Cam Waters’ Monster Mustang at the post-event Sydney Motorsport Park ride day.
Logan won’t partake in Gomersall’s test today at Queensland Raceway, but will turn laps at the all-in test there in August directly following the Ipswich Super440.
