The club officially confirmed a deal with one of the EuroLeague’s top scorers, Carsen Edwards.

Edwards agreed to a 1+1 contract with Zalgiris, potentially keeping him with the club through the end of the 2027-28 season.

BasketNews’ Donatas Urbonas first reported the agreement between Zalgiris and Edwards earlier this month.

Zalgiris land one of the best scorers in EuroLeague

Edwards spent the 2025-26 season with Virtus Bologna, averaging 17.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 11 PIR in 25 minutes per game in the EuroLeague while shooting 46.7% from two-point range and 31.9% from beyond the arc.

The explosive scorer produced one of the best individual performances of the EuroLeague season against ASVEL, erupting for a career-high 36 points in 27 minutes and leading Virtus to victory.

Only three players recorded higher-scoring games in the EuroLeague during the 2025-26 season: Kevin Punter (43 points), Andreas Obst (37), and Tyler Dorsey (37).

Edwards finished fifth in the EuroLeague scoring race last season.

A year earlier, while playing for Bayern Munich, he led the entire competition in scoring with 20.4 points per game. Edwards’ scoring ability and offensive efficiency helped Bayern reach the EuroLeague Play-In Tournament that year.

Combined over the last two EuroLeague seasons, only Sasha Vezenkov and Kendrick Nunn – the league’s two most recent MVP winners – have scored more points than Edwards.

Among all EuroLeague players, only Andreas Obst has made more three-pointers than Edwards over the past two seasons.

Edwards delivered a historic scoring display against Maccabi Tel Aviv in April 2025, drilling 8 three-pointers and pouring in 26 points in a single quarter, both EuroLeague records.

Following the 2024-25 campaign, Edwards earned All-EuroLeague First Team honors and helped Bayern Munich win back-to-back German league titles.

The Boston Celtics selected Edwards with the 33rd overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Across three NBA seasons with the Celtics and Detroit Pistons, he averaged 3.7 points and 1.1 rebounds in 10 minutes per game.

Edwards has also finished as the G League’s leading scorer. In 2022, he led the G League with 26.7 points per game.
