A SUPERCARS team shareholder with a need for speed will enjoy a unique international motorsport experience this week.
Chris Stillwell, a long-time key figure of Tickford Racing, will be driving an ex-Roush Racing NASCAR stock car in the Le Mans Classic event from July 2-5.
A field of 35 stock cars spanning the 1960s to 2010s have made the expedition from North America to run on the legendary French circuit, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of two NASCAR stock cars competing in the 1976 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Headlining the field will be recent NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductee, Kurt Busch, driving the Monster Energy Chevrolet Camaro he raced to victory in the 2020 South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
In memory of Kurt’s younger brother, Kyle, who tragically passed away last month, the Camaro will be re-numbered for the event from its period #1 to Kyle’s final racing number, #8.
Stillwell, a 10 percent shareholder of Tickford Racing, will be behind the wheel of a car originally driven by David Ragan during the 2009 NASCAR Cup Series – thought to be one of the UPS-sponsored, Ford Fusion-bodied chassis which carried Roush Racing’s historic #6 that year.

The car’s other drivers of significance include NASCAR Cup Series race winners, the late Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards, and 2003 champion, Matt Kenseth.
The car Stillwell will drive is now presented in Ford Mustang specification and a Brad Keselowski/Joey Logano-era Discount Tire livery, which it did not race with in period.
A prolific historic motorsport competitor, Stillwell owns a collection of Group A touring cars and Supercars which he has regularly driven at historic events around Australia in recent years.
