Miami’s Norman Powell is reportedly on the move to Chicago in free agency.
The 2026 edition of NBA free agency opened Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET, as stars, role players and young talents hit the open market.

What we know about NBA Free Agency 2026:
Teams began negotiating with players at 6 p.m. ET on June 30.
The deals announced so far are reported, not confirmed. Teams can officially sign players to contracts beginning at 12:01 p.m. ET on July 6.
LeBron James, James Harden, Jalen Duren and Norman Powell are among the former All-Stars available in this year’s free-agent class.

Melton, Warriors agree to reported deal
Golden State has reportedly kept a valuable reserve in the fold. Per reports, guard De’Anthony Melton has agreed to a two-year, $11 million deal to stay with the Warriors. Last season, Melton posted 12.3 ppg, 3.2 rpg and 2.6 apg in 23 mpg — mostly off the bench — for Golden State.

Shortly after agreeing to a trade that reportedly brings Walker Kessler to town, the Los Angeles Lakers made more roster moves. Per multiple reports, the Lakers have agreed to deals with guards Collin Sexton and Quentin Grimes as well as center Sandro Mamukelashvili.

The Los Angeles Lakers have made a big splash in free agency, reportedly adding shot-blocking center Walker Kessler to the mix via a trade.
According to multiple reports, the Utah Jazz are trading Kessler to the Lakers for unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, as well as first-round swaps in 2028 and 2030. ESPN’s Shams Charania reports Kessler is expected to sign a four-year, $130 million deal with the Lakers.

Per multiple reports, the Boston Celtics have agreed to a deal with Mitchell Robinson. The former Knicks big man and the Celtics reportedly have a three-year, $47 million deal in place. Robinson was a key performer for the Knicks in their run to the NBA title and averaged 5.7 ppg, 8.8 rpg and 1.2 bpg last season.

Brooklyn has reportedly added to its frontline by reaching a deal with big man Moritz Wagner. Per reports, Wagner and the Nets have agreed to a two-year, $19 million deal with an opt-in clause and the possibility of a new contract next summer. Last season, Wagner posted 8.9 ppg and 3.2 rpg with the Magic.

Former All-Star guard Mike Conley is headed to the Eastern Conference for the first time in his career. Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, Conley and the Celtics have reportedly agreed to a one-year deal. The 38-year-old Conley spent the last 3 1/2 seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves and also played for the Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies. Last season, Conley averaged 4.5 ppg, 1.7 rpg and 2.9 apg as his role diminished in favor of youngsters Ayo Dosunmu and Bones Hyland.

The Orlando Magic and their former longtime center, Nikola Vučević, have reportedly agreed to work together again. Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Magic and Vučević have settled on a one-year, $3.9 million deal. A 15-year NBA player, Vučević spent nine-plus seasons with the Magic from 2012-21 and was a two-time All-Star there.

Center Ariel Hukporti is moving on from the NBA champions. Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, Hukporti has agreed to a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers after spending the past two seasons in New York. Hukporti averaged 2.2 ppg and 2.9 rpg in 9.2 mpg for the Knicks last season. He appeared in Games 4 and 5 of the NBA Finals and was in the team’s rotation at times throughout New York’s run to the NBA championship.

Chicago has made a big addition in the offseason, reportedly agreeing to a deal with All-Star guard Norman Powell. Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, Powell and the Bulls have agreed to a two-year, $45 million deal that gives Chicago a potent veteran scorer. Last season, Powell posted 21.7 ppg, 3.5 rpg and 2.5 apg with the Miami Heat en route to his first career All-Star appearance.

Former Kia Defensive Player of the Year winner Marcus Smart has reached a deal with the Rockets. Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, Houston and Smart have settled on a two-year, $13 million deal. Last season, Smart posted 9.3 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 3 apg and 1.4 spg in 62 games.

The Detroit Pistons will have some extra size on their frontline next season. Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Pistons have agreed to a three-year, $51 million deal with John Collins. Last season, Collins averaged 13.6 ppg and 5.3 rpg while shooting 55.2% overall and 40.6% on 3-pointers.

Bogdan Bogdanović is on the move, per reports. The swingman battled injuries throughout last season with the Clippers, but has agreed to a one-year deal with the Houston Rockets for 2026-27.
He’s shot 38.1% on 6.3 3-pointers per game — the 22nd highest average for attempts in NBA history — for his career.

Dean Wade averaged 5.8 ppg in 23.2 mpg last season, shooting 36.2% from 3-point range. In the Playoffs, he had the highest plus-minus on the Cavaliers at +28.
He steps in as a multi-faceted wing option for the 76ers, potentially replacing Quentin Grimes and Kelly Oubre Jr.

The former No. 10 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft played 38 games over the last two seasons in Chicago, including 10 last year. He shot 42.9% from 3-point range over those 10 games — the best mark of his career.

The 11-year sharpshooter, who led the league by shooting 47.8% on 3-pointers last season, is joining his sixth NBA team.
Last season marked the third time Kennard led the NBA in 3-point percentage, as he also did so in 2021-22 (44.9%) and 2022-23 (49.4%).

The Florida State alum averaged 8.3 ppg and 1.3 stl in 24.8 mpg over 29 games for the Cavaliers last season. He’s a career 40.7% 3-point shooter on 3.3 3PA per game.
The contract has a mutual opt-in clause in the second year that can be triggered by either Ellis or the team, according to Charania.

Forward Kobe Sanders is returning to the LA Clippers on a four-year deal, per reports. He posted 7.3 ppg last season and had a +32 mark for the Clippers.

Guard Bones Hyland is staying with the Timberwolves, per reports. Minnesota and the swingman agreed to a deal, keeping the shifty guard with the team after he enjoyed a bounce-back run with them. After averaging just 1.3 ppg with the Wolves in four games in 2024-25, Hyland posted 8.5 ppg, 1.8 rpg and 2.6 apg as a key reserve for the Wolves.

Tim Hardaway Jr. averaged 13.5 ppg in 26.6 mpg for the Nuggets last season, playing 80 games and finishing third in Kia Sixth Man of the Year voting. His deal with the Heat covers one year at $6.5 million, according to Charania.
He could provide an alternative to Norman Powell for Miami if needed, or slot in for the departed Tyler Herro.

DeAndre Jordan played 12 games for the Pelicans in 2025-26, bringing him to 1,123 for his career. That’s tied with Lou Williams for 81st on the all-time leaderboard, and one more than Hal Greer.
The veteran center has grabbed 10,861 rebounds over the course of his NBA tenure — good for 35th all-time.

Ousmane Diegn is staying in Milwaukee, per reports. The fourth-year forward from France played a career-high 26.8 mpg over 30 games after being traded to the Bucks last season, averaging 11 ppg, 4.6 reb and 3.6 ast. A career 31.4% 3-point shooter, he hit 33.1% of his threes in Milwaukee.

Eight-year forward Precious Achiuwa has agreed to a multiyear deal to remain in Sacramento after posting a career-high 10.1 ppg in 73 appearances for the Kings in 2025-26.

Atlanta is keeping a key player on its frontline in the fold. Per reports, the Hawks and center Jock Landale have agreed to a one-year deal. Landale was a strong performer for Atlanta after being dealt there at midseason, posting 10.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

The NBA’s all-time leading scorer will be moving on from the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron James’ agent, Rich Paul, tells multiple outlets that James is moving on from the Lakers and won’t return for 2026-27. James had spent the past eight seasons with the Lakers and won an NBA title with them in 2019-20. Last season, he posted 23.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game.

Robert Williams III, a versatile shot-blocking big man, reportedly plans to stay with the Trail Blazers. ESPN’s Shams Charania reports Williams plans to sign a three-year deal. Last season, which was Williams’ third in Portland, he posted 6.7 ppg, 7 rpg and 1.5 bpg in 17.1 minutes per game.

Heat forward Simone Fontecchio is reportedly staying put as he intends to sign a one-year deal with the team, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. Fontecchio shot 37.5% on 3-pointers last year and averaged 8.5 points, 3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game for Miami.
