The Leeds Rhinos have confirmed their interest in Parramatta Eels star Dylan Walker after he was offered to several overseas clubs for next season.

Off-contract at the end of 2026, Walker’s tenure at the Eels and NRL is likely to come to an end following the expiration of his current contract.

This has seen the 31-year-old utility on the lookout for a new deal to continue his rugby league playing career.

Although he has yet to attract interest from within the NRL, the 2017 Dally M Centre of the Year has multiple overseas suitors, such as the Leeds Rhinos.

“There is. We’ve had a few conversations with him,” Leeds Rhinos coach Brad Arthur said.

“I don’t know exactly where it’s at right now at this moment in time, but he’s close to deciding what his future looks like and I think we’re a possibility.”

The confirmation from Arthur comes as Love Rugby League understands that Walker also has interest from other clubs, in addition to the Rhinos.

Able to play a number of different positions in the backline or in the forward pack, the Mascot Jets junior has accumulated 267 first-grade matches for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Manly Sea Eagles, New Zealand Warriors and Eels throughout his 14-year career.

BUNNIES HOOKER ON THE OUTER

Once considered the long-term No.9 of the South Sydney Rabbitohs following the exit of Damien Cook, Peter Mamouzelos has found himself on the outer of the Cardinal and Mytrle.

Recently overlooked in the pecking order in favour of Brandon Smith and Jamie Humphreys, Mamouzelos has been relegated to playing in the NSW Cup reserve-grade competition.

Failing to receive regular game time in the NRL, Wide World of Sports reports that the Greek international has received interest from the PNG Chiefs, who are continuing to build their maiden roster.

Although they don’t enter the competition until 2028, it is understood that if he agrees to join them, he may end up playing for the London Broncos in 2027 under old head coach Jason Demetriou as part of a ‘gap year’.

However, he would need to earn an early release from his current club to do so.

A local Rabbitohs junior, the 25-year-old has featured in 47 matches for the club since his debut in 2021 and has improved every season.

COWBOY LINKED WITH NEW CLUB

Entering the final months of his current deal with the North Queensland Cowboys, back-rower John Bateman has found himself on the radar of another club.

Likely to depart the NRL at the end of the season and return home to England, the 32-year-old has caught the interest of the Bradford Bulls in the Super League, per Love Rugby League.

It is understood that a handful of other teams are also set to show a keen interest if he decides to play in the overseas competition.

If he agrees to join the Bulls, it would mark a sensational full-circle moment for Bateman, who started his professional rugby league career with the club in 2011, making his debut at the age of just 17 years and 208 days old.

Since then, he has played for the Wigan Warriors, Canberra Raiders, Wests Tigers, Warrington Wolves (via loan) and is currently plying his trade in Townsville under Todd Payten.
