FORMER Super2 racer Bradley Neill will play a vital role in Aaron Seton’s Repco Supercars Championship debut next week.

Neill will serve as data engineer for the #30 Matt Stone Racing Camaro, which will run in a resplendent retro livery.

Former Dick Johnson Racing staffer Charles Bratt will be race engineer, while Jack Bellotti is managing the wildcard program.

Neill has plenty of experience at the wheel of Supercar machinery, having been a V8 Touring Car Series regular from 2017-19 – initially campaigning a Perkins Engineering-built VS Commodore before switching to an ex-Stone Brothers Racing FG Falcon.

Neill then raced in the 2021 Super2 season-opener at Mount Panorama before a health battle forced him to the sidelines.

He subsequently worked with Cameron McLeod as the latter rose up the ranks, and has continued plying his trade in the data engineering/driver coaching arena. Neill has this year been part of Mustang Cup Australia points leader Josh Anderson’s crew, as well as contracting to MSR for its TA2 Muscle Car Series program.

“So I have been around the motorsport game in a driver coaching and data analysis role, and then this opportunity came up with this wildcard,” he told V8 Sleuth.

“I was lucky to get a call from Matt (Stone) and with some trepidation, I took the job.

“It’s an intense environment, the main game. I’ve been around it for years but to be involved at the coalface is really cool and exciting.”

Neill says it’s on him and the Car #30 crew to deliver for Seton.

“Aaron is very experienced now. He has driven a lot of cars and at the front of the field, so there will be no issues with Aaron’s driving,” he declared.

“We have just got to make sure we give him the best car and the right strategy to enable a good result.”

Seton will make solo appearances in both the Townsville 500 (July 10-12) and Ipswich Super440 (August 21-23) before co-driving with MSR rookie Zach Bates in the enduros.
