Toulouse Olympique have signed Canterbury Bulldogs back row forward Louis Grossemy.
The 23-year-old is an Australian-born French international and joins the Super League side with immediate effect after a spell in the New South Wales Cup competition.
Grossemy has signed with Toulouse until the end of the 2027 season. He began his rugby league career in the South Sydney Rabbitohs youth system before joining Sydney Roosters, also playing in the lower grades and later having a stint with the Bulldogs.
He featured 22 times in the NSW Cup, scoring four tries, but didn’t play for the Bulldogs in the NRL.
The forward qualities for France through his French father and earned his first cap against Jamaica last year. He will pushing to represent the country again at the Rugby League World Cup this autumn.
Speaking on his move to Toulouse and to Super League, Grossemy said: “It’s an opportunity to come back and play and represent my family’s heritage.”
Meanwhile, Toulouse head coach Sylvain Houles added: “We’re delighted to have signed Louis, who will add real quality to our pack.
“He’s a French international and a highly athletic player who gives everything and never stops working. We’re looking forward to welcoming him to the club and getting started together.”
Toulouse take on Catalans Dragons at the Magic Weekend, with the game played at French Top 14 rugby union club Castres on Saturday night.
They have won four games to date in their second season in Super League, last defeating Huddersfield Giants back in June.
