Ian Garry said he aims to surpass Conor McGregor as the face of Irish MMA and will face Islam Makhachev in the UFC 330 main event on Aug. 15 in Philadelphia. The UFC 330 matchup gives Ian Garry, nicknamed “The Future,” his first title shot against Islam Makhachev, while Conor McGregor fights at UFC 329 beforehand. Garry noted both he and McGregor currently have 10 UFC wins and said a victory would make him the most victorious Irishman in UFC history with 11. At 28, he described himself as the ‘second wave’ of Irish MMA and expressed a goal to return a UFC event to Dublin, including venues such as Croke Park.
