Heartbreak for Socceroos on Saturday and how to interpret the biggest audience of the week.
The biggest audience last week was early on Saturday morning in the FIFA World Cup but as it dragged on the numbers need some context.
While OzTAM tracks the Australia v Egypt match as averaging 1.95m, the Post Match (which was actually more play) is tallied at 2.25m.
As the match dragged on a penalty shootout edged into the scheduled time for a Wogball doco. It’s a rare time where Reach is a good indication of how many would have really been watching when the Socceroos lost to Egypt: 3.21m.
Elsewhere Seven News led at 1.57m while Home & Away topped entertainment at 1.03m.
