Less than 48 hours after officiating the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, Adam Sandler made a surprising phone call to police.
It seems that after the event, Adam Sandler jetted off to Nantucket, a popular summer island destination off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It was there that he promptly called the police to ask one simple question.

According to an Instagram post made by the Nantucket Current, Sandler called the island’s non-emergency police line to ask where he could play a game of basketball.
The dispatcher who answered the call, Chris Reynolds, told the publication that Sandler said, “Hey, I’m here on your island and I like to play basketball. Can you tell me where there’s a basketball court I could play on?”
Reynolds directed him to Backus Lane court where a group “playing pick-ups” were shocked to see the A-lister step out of the car.
Nantucket local Andrew Kesler was on the court playing with friends, telling the Nantucket Current that Sandler “rolled in a car” and simply asked if he could play.
“He’s like ‘guys let me stretch I’m going to hop in’,” Kesler said.
Of course, he wore what has become known around the world as the typical Adam Sandler outfit: knee-length baggy shorts, a pair of ‘dad’ sneakers, and a baggy button-up shirt.
We assume that a few days before, when the actor officiated what has since been dubbed the wedding of the century, he dressed up a little more for the occasion.
Sandler’s role in the ceremony was potentially the most surprising piece of news to break out of the Swift-Kelce wedding.
The actor has been a long-time fan of Swift, publicly praising not only the singer’s music but also how “ridiculously nice” she is.
Not only did Sandler give Kelce a guest role in the film, he also found room for his dad, Ed Kelce, to make an appearance. Netflix
He also appeared on Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, in early 2025, and gave the NFL star a guest role in his 2025 film, Happy Gilmore 2.
During an interview with CNN, Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid praised Sandler for doing a “phenomenal job” during the wedding ceremony.
“How he went about bringing a little bit of humour and a bit of sensitivity to what was going on,” he said.
“There was a lot of people from different worlds, and he brought them all together.”
