Russell Crowe has given a rare glimpse into his private life with a heartfelt birthday tribute to his son Tennyson.
Crowe, 62, who shares children Charles, 22, and Tennyson, 20, with ex-wife Danielle Spencer, took to social media sharing grown-up photos of his youngest son.

“20 years ago today, at 7 minutes to 7am, this amazing young man arrived in our lives. Happy Birthday Tenny,” Crowe captioned the collection of snaps.
In one image, the father-and-son duo flexed their muscles at the gym while they snapped a cheeky mirror selfie.
In another, presumably taken from the same day, the pair bonded while riding horses together.
The final picture was a throwback featuring baby Tennyson and a younger Crowe.
It didn’t take long for fans to draw similarities between the Gladiator actor and his look-alike son.
“Look at you two !!! Apple didn’t fall far from that tree!!!” one fan wrote.
Another joked, “No DNA test required”.
Others were already drumming up ideas to see Russell and Tennyson on screens together.

“This is a movie I would watch. Maybe do a gladiator prequel where Russ is the dad and the son grows up to be gladiator. Would pay for that,” one commented.
Crowe and ex-wife Spencer, an Aussie actress and singer, welcomed sons Charles and Tennyson during their nine-year marriage.
The pair married in 2003, separated in 2012 and eventually finalised their divorce in 2018.

Despite their split, the pair remained on friendly terms which helped them as they co-parented alongside one another.
In an April interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, Spencer cleared a long-standing rumour about her split from Crowe.
“There’s been this narrative that Russell’s escalating career and him being away contributed to the break-up of our marriage, but that’s not true for me,” she said.
“I don’t need to be with my partner 24 hours a day to feel safe or secure.”

Growing up, Charles and Tennyson lived with Spencer in Australia though they remained close with their dad.
Spencer continued to praise her ex Crowe for his “loyalty”, “deep thinking” and for being “a very loving dad”.
“Our sons stay with him in the summer holidays and he takes them away mid-year for a few weeks. He gets the holiday times, I get the boring routine,” Spencer said.
