After the first round setback of the new Nations Championship against Scotland in Córdoba (38-47 defeat), Los Pumas next outing is against Wales at the San Juan del Bicentenario stadium, in the province of San Juan.

This will be the eighth appearance of the national team in the city, and the second time they face the Welsh in that stadium; The last time was in 2018, where the visitors won 23-10.

Felipe Contepomi, head coach of the national team, has made 5 changes to the starting XV compared the Scottish match in Córdoba.

Prop Boris Wenger comes on in place of Mayco Vivas, while fellow prop Tomás Rapetti replaces Pedro Delgado.

Flanker Marcos Kremer is in for Pablo Matera who goes to the bench, centre Justo Piccardo replaces Faustino Sánchez Valarolo and wing Bautista Delguy replaces Rodrigo Isgró.

Second row Guido Petti (Puma #818) will play his 100th game in the Los Pumas jersey. Born in the SIC, Petti made his debut on November 14, 2014 against Italy, and played 17 caps in three World Cups (2015, 2019 and 2023). He will be the sixth centenarian player in the history of Los Pumas.
