Although Diallo committed to Dubai Basketball on a multi-year deal, his agreement includes an exit clause that allows him to leave for the NBA until July 15.
According to BasketNews sources, multiple NBA teams are following Diallo.
Interest from NBA clubs had been building throughout the season, with Diallo emerging as one of the league’s top international targets.
A 29-year-old 2.01-meter forward was named the EuroLeague Best Defensive Player this season after averaging 11.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.4 steals, and 13.6 PIR in 28 minutes per game.
He spent all five of his EuroLeague seasons with AS Monaco Basket, developing into one of the competition’s top two-way forwards.
Per Synergy Sports, Diallo was graded “excellent” in overall defensive possessions, man-to-man defense, and pressing situations.
Diallo led all EuroLeague forwards in points allowed per possession at 0.844 and ranked among the competition’s top 20 players in pick-and-roll situations, allowing just 0.706 points per possession when guarding the ball-handler.
With Diallo as its leader, Monaco forced the fourth-most turnovers in the league (13.2 per game) and ranked fifth in opposing teams’ PIR (91.1) and steals (6.8 spg.).
