Cruz Hewitt, the son of Aussie tennis great Lleyton, is looking to follow in his dad’s footsteps by lifting a Wimbledon trophy tonight.
Some 24 years after former world No.1 Lleyton won the men’s singles title at SW19, the junior Hewitt is facing America’s Jordan Lee in the junior singles final (starts 10pm AEST).

Hewitt, 17, was unseeded at Wimbledon but has beaten four consecutive seeded players including the No.2 seed.
In the semi-final, Hewitt impressively fought past Dutch junior Thijs Boogaard 6-4 6-4, just a few weeks after Boogaard won a round at a senior-level event then pushed major winner Daniil Medvedev to the brink of defeat.
Hewitt has not dropped a set at this tournament and is already the first Australian to reach the junior boys final since Alex de Minaur in 2016. Australia’s last winner was future doubles grand slam finalist Luke Saville in 2011.

Hewitt’s parents and coach Wayne Arthurs have been in attendance through his run at Wimbledon.
“Obviously, my dad had a great career, but I’m not looking to equal it or do better. I just want to do my own career, and see how good I can be as a tennis player,” Hewitt said this week.
“(The expectation and pressure are) always there, but I take the positives out of it. I do what I can, and kind of block out all the other noise. It doesn’t bother me too much. I focus on myself, and try to do my best each day.
“I think I’ve always had this type of personality, which has obviously helped me.”
