JACK Le Brocq and James Golding are increasingly looking destined to fight it out for the last provisional berth in the Supercars Finals Series.

Le Brocq was rock-solid all weekend in Townsville while Lap 1 skirmishes both yesterday and today have cost Golding dearly.

The pair are now the only two within 100 points either side of the cut line.

Two rounds are to come in the Sprint Cup, followed by two enduros, and then it’s finals time. That means a maximum of 1230 points remain in play before the ‘regular season’ ends.

There is also the possibility that only the top nine pointscorers go through to the playoffs, should the Enduro Cup winner come from outside the top 10 in the post-Bathurst standings.
