TRIPLE Eight stars Broc Feeney and Will Brown have given candid accounts of where they’re at after a second successive round spent back in the pack.
The duo consistently struggled for qualifying speed – Feeney’s Sunday being the exception – but were at least able to limit damage with sterling charges in each race.
“Just another tough weekend,” said Feeney.
“The results aren’t representing the effort going in, which is a tough thing because everyone’s working extremely hard to try and fix our weaknesses.”
Feeney described the #88 Red Bull Ampol Mustang as “a car that right now is so hard to drive” and “very easy to make mistakes in”.
“We’re still searching for our sweet spot set-up wise, but then there are times this weekend where Will and I are eight tenths off in qualifying, so we’re off by not a little bit, it’s a lot of pace we’re looking for,” he added.

The usually cheery Brown’s frustration was plain to see yesterday.
“I passed something like 29 cars this weekend, so that was a lot of fun, but need to qualify better and put the car up front. Would rather be in the running for a podium and a win instead of having fun passing cars,” he said.
“To be better in qualifying it’s for me about minimising mistakes, don’t make them, be fast and be consistent every time you go out there.
“I felt like I did a good job for what I had this weekend, but you know if we get everything 100 percent perfect hopefully who knows we can start just that little bit further up.
“Looking forward to going to Perth and just having another weekend on track to try and redeem ourselves.”
Feeney and Brown are second and seventh, respectively, in the championship.
