MUSTANG Cup Australia has announced another six-round calendar for its second year of running in 2027.

The one-make Ford series has got off to a slower than expected start, with just 11 cars competing at the past two rounds (at The Bend and Queensland Raceway).

That’s well short of the Blue Oval’s target grid size of 16-20, with hopes for growth into year two in a SpeedSeries-aligned schedule that will include a maiden visit to Bathurst.

“It is fantastic to continue with SRO Motorsports Australia as a premium category into 2027,” said series manager Liam Curkpatrick.

“Our competitors have really enjoyed the opening three rounds with SRO at its SpeedSeries events, so it’s great to confirm that our second year will have consistency for all.

“Adding Bathurst to our schedule is very exciting. Mount Panorama is the perfect location for our Dark Horse Rs, and we know that we are going to produce some great racing there.

“Like 2026, we will run a six-round series next year, so we still have one event to lock away.

“We are talking to various parties and confirmation of that will come in the near future.”
