CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Public Library are unveiling a commemorative exhibit for their 2016 championship win against the Golden State Warriors.
The LeBron James-led Cavs came back from a 3-1 series deficit, making it one of the most memorable NBA finals in the sport.
“Ten years later, the 2016 Championship continues to be a powerful symbol of the perseverance of Cleveland’s communities. Our friends, families and neighbors’ belief and resilience carried the city through the historic run,” said Executive Vice President and Chief Impact and Equity Officer Kevin Clayton. “The exhibit brings to life the intensity of the 2016 NBA Finals and revives emotions from the series and from the unforgettable Championship parade, allowing each visitor to reflect on their own memories from that time, while making new ones.”
History will be recounted with authenticated memorabilia from the series as well. The experience builds toward the high-stakes Game 7 victory.

As we celebrate Cleveland’s 230th anniversary through One Cleveland, this partnership with the Cleveland Cavaliers reflects exactly what the initiative is all about: celebrating the moments that bring our city together,” said Executive Director and CEO of Cleveland Public Library Felton Thomas Jr. “We’re proud to share this unforgettable championship story so future generations can experience a moment that united all of Cleveland.”
The showcase opens with a live recording from Cleveland’s own DJ E-V and features painting performances by Stina Aleah and Dayz Whun to set the stage.
The free exhibit will be at the Cleveland Public Library Main Campus in downtown Cleveland.
